Mountain Line Begins New Shop-n-Hop Bus Service

The Mountain Line Transit Authority is pleased to announce a new service initiative in conjunction with a private partner.  Mountain Line is teaming with the Village at Heritage Point to provide new transportation opportunities for local residents.  This new service referred to as the Shop-n-Hop Route provides local residents with transportation to various, local shopping venues.  The Village at Heritage Point is partially subsidizing this service to make this transportation more affordable.  The service is available to residents of the Village as well as the public at large.  Other specific and targeted points of origin for these new trips include Chestnut Hill Apartments and Unity House Apartments.

The Shop-n-Hop service began on Tuesday March 2.  Mountain Line is offering trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays that originate at the Village at Heritage Point.  All trips are open to the public and the cost is $1.50 each way.  Tuesday trips feature a route that includes Suburban Plaza, Bi-Lo and the Patteson Drive Krogers.  The trip begins at the Village at Heritage Point at 1:30 pm and arrives at Kroger approximately fifteen minutes later.  The return trip from these shopping venues begins at 2:30 pm from Bi-Lo, picks up at Kroger about five minutes later, and returns to both Unity House and the Village at Heritage Point directly thereafter.

The Shop-n-Hop route offers Thursday trips to the Suburban Plaza, Seneca Center, the Mountaineer Mall, and the Morgantown Mall.  These trips, also open to the public, begin at the Village at 9:35 am, and arrive at either the Mountaineer Mall or Morgantown Mall in about 25 minutes.  Return trips begin at 11:30 am from the Malls and are completed at the Village at Heritage Point just thirty minutes later.

Passengers can opt to continue their transportation adventure on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Thursdays of each month by traveling on to various luncheon venues from the Village at Heritage Point at 12:00 noon.  These trips are also open to the public and the cost is $3 dollars, round trip.  Mountain Line has luncheon trips planned for destinations such as Applebee’s, Prime Thyme, Back Bay, CJ Maggie’s, Ruby Tuesdays, Colassante’s, Pargo’s, and Bob Evans restaurants.  For more information about the new Shop-n-Hop service, a complete schedule and route map are available on Mountain Line’s Web Site at WWW.BUSRIDE.ORG or interested parties can call the Village at Heritage Point at 285-5576 to make reservations today!
