Welcome to the Summary Page for Bus Service to West Virginia University provided through the Mountain Line Transit Authority

New for 2008

Welcome to Morgantown and Monongalia County. Whether you are a new student or a returning student, there are some new features and services you might want to check out for the 2008-09 school year. We've added a new Valley View Route that runs every 15 minutes, put on a second Blue & Gold (which means the bus runs every 10-minutes), added another Cassville bus route giving you 30-minute trips to the University Town Center Mall, and we've set up a new Trip Assistance feature on our web page that lets you plan your trip needs ahead of time using Google Transit. Check out the links, save time and money by avoinding traffic, parking fees and fines, and leave the driving to us!

Fares

Bus Service to WVU Faculty, Staff and Students has been prepaid. You can ride any local Mountain Line bus by showing your valid WVU I.D. to the Driver when boarding the bus.

Schedules

There are several schedules which serve WVU facilities, dormatories and connect to local areas of interest such as shoping malls. The schedule provided below is offered as a quick-start guide only. You can get a full schedule of each route on-line.

Hours of Operation

Mountain Line operates from 6:00 a.m. through Midnight, Monday through Saturday. Service hours are extended on the Campus P.M. Route until 3:10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday while classes are in session during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Additional, limited service is available on Sunday on the Orange Line and the Blue & Gold Connector.

Connections

Mountain Line travels more than 900,000 miles per year with more than 1,100 hours of service per week. There are a number of transfers and connections available to meet your needs. If you cannot determine the best route to meet your needs, fill out our on-line assistance request form at or call 291-RIDE (7433) and we will help you customize your trip.

Catching the Bus

Unlike some of our big-city brothers, Mountain Line offers customer-friendly service to meet YOUR needs. Buses will stop for you anywhere along the designated route. All you need to do is wait in a safe location and wave to the driver as the bus approaches. No need to hike to a bus stop to catch the bus.

Mobility and Other Impairments

All Mountain Line vehicles are accessible for persons with mobility impairments. Additionally, Mountain Line will deviate off of our regular route to pick you up for a $0.50 cent fare. Deviations must be pre-arranged by calling 291-7433.
