COMMUTERS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SAVINGS AND TRAVEL TIME
Morgantown, WV -
Beginning in November Mountain Line Transit and Monongalia Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) started a vanpooling program. Since its inception two groups have signed up and are taking advantage of the savings. Traveling to Clarksburg one group’s commute departs from Glenmark Center and the other from Goshen Road.
A vanpool group is typically 5-15 people who share their commute. The vanpool travels from home (or a pre-arranged meeting place) to work, school or other destination.
Should an emergency situation arise, the program offers “Guaranteed Ride Home” a program which allows the participant to get reimbursed for either a cab or an alternate means of transportation four times per year.
Vanpools help drivers save money, time, stress and helps the environment. For the first 14 vanpools to sign up there is a monthly subsidy of $500 to help offset the costs.
Sign up today, if there are others with a similar trip, you may be on your way to savings. To sign up, or for additional information, visit
