Mountain Line Monthly Ridership Report
Morgantown, WV-
Mountain Line Transit Authority reinstated service to several local bus routes in July 2016 and began additional, new bus service in early August 2016. These service changes were made possible through funding provided by the passage of the Transit Levy during the 2016 Primary Election.
Service Results: The first week in September reflected a drop of 31% in ridership, this week included the Labor Day when local services are suspended for the holiday. New bus service to Mylan Park, Suncrest Town Center, Westover and Star City resulted in a ridership increase of 40% in the second week of operation, and ridership numbers leveled off by 6% in the final two weeks of August. Combining reinstated services, new services, the holiday and ridership growth, overall ridership has grown by 86% through July, August and September of 2016.
Bus route maps, timetables, fares and other information are available on the Mountain Line web site at www.Busride.org, as is a link to the Authority’s live-time bus tracking mobile app. Passengers can also call 304 291-RIDE (7433) for information or to arrange a rider training session or personal route schedule assistance.
